Bay City Residents were Empowered at the Fifth Third Bank eBus Fair
BCELP attended the Fifth Third eBus Economic Empowerment Fair at the Bay County Building in conjunction with Consumers Energy and the Helping Neighbors Program to help bring energy efficiency assistance to Bay City residents. The Event included a multitude of other community partners as well, including Bay Area Housing, Fifth Third Bank, the Social Security Administration, Great Lakes Bay Housing, Do-All Inc., Bay County Habitat for Humanity, Mid-Michigan Community Action and United Way of Bay County. All of the partners offered services to residents that helped them save money or energy.
BCELP gave away 51 energy saving kits to customers. The kits included outlet insulators, an energy saver book, a LED nightlight, an outlet plug, a pen, and a furnace whistle. At the event 12 more residents signed up for the Helping Neighbors Program! The event also included hourly raffle drawings and BCELP offered two $25 utility bill credits that went to two lucky BCELP customers! The event was received well and made the residents more knowledgeable on the services offered in their community. |
